Nourishing the Body and Soul with Solis & IWG Singapore

On 18 April, a simple Saturday morning was transformed into something much more meaningful.

At our Cook & Nourish Workshop, the space quickly filled with the comforting aroma of freshly prepared dishes, easy conversation, and moments of shared laughter. Hosted by Solis Breast Care & Surgery Centre in collaboration with the Italian Women’s Group (IWG) Singapore, the session brought together around 20 Solis patients alongside Senior Consultant & Breast Surgeon, Dr Esther Chuwa, for a morning centred on Wholesome Living.

Where Knowledge Meets Everyday Living

The morning began with a nutrition talk by Ms Claire Sioné-Fournier, whose offered a refreshing perspective on food and recovery. Rather than focusing on restrictions, she shared how thoughtful, balanced choices can become a natural and sustainable part of daily life – supporting breast health and recovery while still embracing the joy of eating.

Bringing It to the Table

From there, the energy shifted into the kitchen. Guided by the IWG team, participants stepped into a hands-on cooking session, preparing vibrant, nourishing dishes from Flavours of Well-being:

As ingredients were chopped, stirred, and plated, the experience became more than just a lesson in nutrition – it was a chance to rediscover confidence in simple, wholesome cooking.

More Than a Workshop

What truly defined the morning was not just the food, but the connections formed around it.

In between recipes and conversations, participants found a space to share, listen, and relate to others on similar journeys. It was a gentle but powerful reminder that while nutrition fuels the body, community plays an equally important role in healing and wellbeing.

Looking Ahead

We are grateful to Ms Claire Sioné-Fournier, Barbara Ferraresi, President of the Italian Women’s Group Singapore; and the IWG team – Francesca, Teresa and Marianna – for their invaluable contributions to this workshop.

We also thank our partners Wholesome Harvest and Barilla for their generous support.

At Solis, these moments matter. We look forward to creating more opportunities for our community to come together – through learning, connection, and shared experiences.
