Breast Screening

1 in 13 women is diagnosed with breast cancer. Routine breast screenings play a crucial role in detecting breast cancer in its early stages which is easier to treat.

Together with Luma, our very own Women’s Imaging Centre, Solis provides a range of screening services to detect and assess breast-related abnormalities.

In addition to MRI scans and ultrasound imaging tests, we also offer 3D mammogram screening for a more comfortable and accurate examination of the breasts underlying tissue.

Diagnosis

Without a thorough diagnosis, breast cancer exists merely as a possibility. By taking into account age, health, signs and symptoms, our specialists draw from their collective expertise to provide thorough and accurate diagnoses.

The process may involve breast screening, biopsies, and treatments related to certain abnormalities such as breast infections, breastfeeding problems or breast abscesses.

Procedures

60 to 80 percent of most breast lumps are benign (non-cancerous). Unfortunately, breast lumps are also the most common presentation in breast cancer. Benign breast lumps can either be fluid-filled cysts or solid nodules. Certain procedures are necessary to identify the nature of a breast lump.

At Solis, our doctors are experienced in a variety of procedures used to distinguish benign breast lumps from malignant (cancerous) breast lumps ranging from image-guided biopsies to fine-needle aspiration cytology, excisions of nipple/areolar papilloma and more.
