Dr Lim Sue Zann is a senior consultant practicing at Solis. She has a special interest in oncoplastic and minimally invasive breast surgery. Prior to joining Solis, she was a senior consultant at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Breast Centre, Singapore General Hospital and National Cancer Centre Singapore. She is highly experienced in the full spectrum of breast surgery, including breast-conserving surgery, minimally invasive mastectomy, partial breast reconstruction and reduction mammoplasty. With a passion for both clinical care and medical education, Dr Lim is actively involved in training the next generation of surgeons, while continuing to contribute to international research in breast cancer.

Training and Qualifications

Dr Lim graduated with honours from the University of Malaya in 2008 and subsequently earned her Master of Medicine in Surgery from the National University of Singapore. She became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2017.

She completed the Advanced Breast Surgery Fellowship at Singapore General Hospital, where she was trained in both oncological and reconstructive surgical techniques. Her pursuit of surgical excellence took her to South Korea’s Asan Medical Center for training in minimally invasive breast surgery in 2022, and subsequently to the Royal Marsden Hospital, London in 2023 to learn advanced oncoplastic techniques.

Accolades and Achievements

An advocate for surgical education, Dr Lim plays a key role in residency and junior doctor training programmes. As Associate Programme Director of the General Surgery Residency, she has been pivotal in curriculum development and mentorship initiatives. Her dedication to teaching was recognized with the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2013.

Dr Lim’s research interests mainly focused on the de-escalation of axillary surgery, breast sarcomas, phyllodes tumours, and broadening access to breast-conserving surgical options. She has authored over 15 peer-reviewed publications and presented her work at numerous international breast cancer conferences. Notably, she served as Principal Investigator on a Singapore General Hospital-funded study examining prognostic factors and outcomes in breast sarcomas and phyllodes tumours.

Dr Lim also contributes actively to institutional leadership through her involvement in hospital committees such as the Elective Surgery Task Force and the Operating Theatre Management Committee, shaping patient-centric surgical care policies.

In recognition of her service and clinical excellence, she has received numerous awards, including the Singapore Health Quality Service Gold Award (2025), the Singapore General Hospital Service with a Heart Award (2024, 2015), the SingHealth Best Registrar Award (2016), and multiple undergraduate medals and prizes from the University of Malaya (2008).
